Let's talk about the electricity bill as the summer is staying HOT in East Texas.

As fulltime RVer, the electricity bill is significantly higher in summer months than in winter months.

But there are ways to keep your electricity bill lower. And it's so simple that everybody can do it, if you and your family can support it.

A 1-degree change in your air conditioner setting changes your cooling costs by about 3%.

This means each cooler degree adds roughly $3 to $5 a month to a standard $100 to $150 electricity bill.

Cost Breakdown
- Percentage change: Energy experts and the Department of Energy state that every degree you lower your thermostat increases energy use by 3%.

- Dollar impact: If your monthly electric bill is $150, one degree cooler adds about $4.50 each month. Over a hot summer, this totals $15 to $20 extra.

- Workload: Dropping the temperature past a 20-degree difference from the outdoor heat can spike usage by 7% to 10% per degree.

Ways to Save:
1. Recommended setting: The U.S. Department of Energy suggests setting your AC to 78F (25C) when you are home and comfortable.

Big shout to our guest- he mowed some of the lawn not only in front of his camper but also one of the neighbors before we got to it...

Sunday morning we waited until 9:00am when most of our guests should be up and have their morning coffee, then we started mowing the lawn. Hubby is getting this newly acquired equipment work for us while I was doing some w**d whacking.
