The most recent storm brought high winds and torrential rain to Lost Lands. The ground is so saturated that we have decided to keep the gate closed until we dry out. We are getting hit again tomorrow (Friday) night with 60 mph winds and rain. They are forecasting just over a half inch, so triple that for accuracy. Last weekend they forecasted an inch of rain; we got just under 3". They just announced that we have gone from drought conditions to over-satisfying the rain requirements for the entire winter (with 8 weeks left to go).
The only damage we found throughout the Park was a canopy top torn to shreds and an entire canopy trashed because the top was left on. Never leave the canvas tops on a canopy; they won's survive the winter.
Following any storm, we will individually notify anyone who suffered damage. Up until last weekend, we only had one down rotten lighthouse.
Stay warm, stay dry, and we will see you in about 15 weeks 🙂

SPECIAL FAREWELL to a SPECIAL COUPLE
Last weekend was the sad time we all said our tearful goodbyes to DENNY & MARIE from Site 162. They were our most tenured members of the Community holding a record 21 1/2 years in Lost Lands.
In February 2002, Denny and Marie joined us for their first season. Their foster children, Domi, Mandy, Bree Ann and Tressica were ages 11 to 13. By the end of the 2002 season, there were 24 people in Lost Lands. Denny & Marie were on Site #34 and after entertaining several people when their portable screened gazebos become kites and flew across the Park, they added a huge Silver-Top room to their RV. Their son, Junior, and his family are in that RV now and Denny & Marie moved to Site 162 when Phase III of the Park was completed.
We have watched their children grow up and visit Lost Lands with children of their own. Denny & Marie have touched the lives of many in Lost Lands. They made many friends over the years and continue to stay in touch with several who have been gone from Lost Lands for years. I know they will come for visits once or twice a season, but it won't be the same. We will miss them greatly and wish them all the best.
