One of my favorite things about traveling is sharing a little piece of the place with someone you love.

Thanks to our Champaign County, OH Visitors Bureau and Champaign County Chamber of Commerce, our guests can now do just that. These locally designed, pre-stamped postcards will be waiting in the pantry for anyone who wants to send a little note from Urbana.

Our Gilmore Girls crew is ready for the Downtown Scarecrow Stroll, happening October 1–10! Lorelai and Rory have their coffee in hand, and you’ll find Luke hanging out nearby.

Come downtown, take a stroll and check out all of the scarecrows our local businesses have created. There are some seriously good ones out there!

Ballots can be picked up at any participating location, including Scioto Inn. Ours will be available at the front desk for both pickup and drop-off. Since we are still a working inn with guests staying with us, we just ask that you come in quietly and respectfully.

We love a happy guest review! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our latest guest at Scioto Inn in Urbana, Ohio originally booked a two-night stay, but loved the accommodations and the view so much he decided to extend a few more nights. Very low maintenance, kept to himself and only helped himself to a little of the landscaping.

He says he’d happily stay again, and we’d happily have him back. We’ll take the 5-star review!

Marked safe from pumpkins… until today.

September starts tomorrow, so I finally caved on a pumpkin iced latte (and maybe a pumpkin Pop-Tart… no judging) from our local Gemini Coffee & Eats.

As of today, Scioto Inn is still pumpkin-free… but its days are officially numbered.

UPDATE!!! Moments after posting our power came back on, hallelujah 🙌🏼

Well… the power came back briefly last night, only to have a transformer blow, so Scioto Inn is once again at the mercy of Mother Nature. We know the power crews have to be exhausted, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the hours they’re putting in to get everyone back up and running.
We’ve reported it, spoken with them this morning, and we’re continuing to clean, prep and work by daylight (and battery-operated candlelight when needed) while doing everything we can to accommodate our guests during a very busy week and weekend.

And because apparently this week needed a little more excitement, we have more severe weather rolling through today. Historic inn ownership is definitely keeping us on our toes!

If you don’t mind saying a little prayer that the storms pass safely and the lights come back on soon, we’d certainly appreciate it. 🤍
