One year.
One year ago today, we officially became the owners of the Scioto Inn—and looking back at these pictures, we truly had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. 😜
We were in the middle of renovating The Event Vault Urbana just a block away, and the idea of pairing our event venue with lodging nearby felt like the perfect fit. What we didn’t anticipate was just how much this little Inn would teach us.
Has it been harder than we expected? 100%. It’s challenged us and taught us a whole lot about hospitality, old buildings, people…and just how many pine needles one property can possibly produce. My leaf blower and I are basically inseparable at this point.
But we’ve also met some incredibly sweet people, welcomed guests celebrating all kinds of special moments, and watched this little Inn become part of what we’re building here in downtown Urbana.
Do we regret it? Not at all.
One year later, we’re still learning, still finding our footing, and still grateful we took the chance.
Happy one year to us and the Scioto Inn. Here’s to year two!
