Feeling human again after 10 hours of flying!

I love going to new places but I will never love flying.

Pacific climate makes wonderful conditions for flowers. Daisies are perennials here!

I thought I would really miss my spring garden back in Utica NY, but I can already see that won't be the case.

First impressions of Tokyo--extremely clean and very quiet. It doesn't feel like a big city at all. Excited to see some of it over the next few days.

Snow drops, also known as galanthus, are the first flowers to bloom in spring.

They grow under the snow. As soon as it melts, they are visible and ready to bloom.

With temperatures in the 50's for the next week, flowers should be showing very soon!

What are your thoughts on AB? I learned a lot about food and technique from his cookbooks and "Good Eats". Also learned how to make a really good cup of coffee. The simplest things in the kitchen always have the most room for improvement.

Alton Brown may be an accomplished chef and celebrity, but he likes to spend time reading up on the food scene in magazines, just like us.
