In a span of 14 hours from 4 pm on April 2nd to 6 am on April 3rd, Vail went from temps of almost 60 degrees for the Taste of Vail to 12 inches of snow falling overnight. A typical April snowstorm in a not so typical winter in Vail.

While this has been a winter of lower snow and higher temps in Vail, I had to question whether it ever snows in Vail, so I went through photos in my iCloud and put together this short video. After the last low snow year in 2017-18, the following year saw an increase of 110 more inches of snowfall. Chances are, we'll have a lot of opportunities to ski powder next winter.

We found some more powder at Vail on Friday morning, March 6th and it has continued to snow all day. While it has been a low snow season, looking back it has snowed on December 6 and January 6, then Blue Sky Basin opened on February 6th.

Check out the new 3D tour of condo 010 at Vail International below. A major remodel of this 2BR/2BA condo was completed in early February of 2026. It features a new kitchen with upgraded cabinets and appliances, all new flooring throughout the unit as well as a King bed in the primary bedroom. The bathrooms have been upgraded too! This condo is available for rent, just in time for the 7 - 13 inches of snow that is predicted to fall in Vail in the next 48 hours.
