🚫🔥 BRUNSWICK COUNTY BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🔥🚫

Effective immediately and until further notice, a county-wide burn ban has been issued due to extreme drought conditions and an increased risk for widespread, dangerous brush fires.

🚨 All open burning is prohibited.

These conditions make fires difficult to control and put lives, property, and first responders at serious risk.

⚠️ We need your help to keep Brunswick County safe:
• Do NOT burn debris, brush, or trash
• Avoid any activities that could spark a fire
• Use extreme caution with smoking materials
• Report any signs of fire immediately

🚨 🔥 Increased Fire Risk Today 🔥 🚨
⏰ 10 AM - 6 PM

The combination of gusty southwest winds and low relative humidity will result in increasing potential for adverse fire behavior today. A Special Weather Statement for Increased Fire Danger is in effect for portions of the VA Piedmont and I-95 Corridor today. Reminder: In Virginia, a ban on open burning before 4 pm remains in place through April 30th. In North Carolina, there is a statewide burn ban in in effect for all open burning due to increased risk of wildfires.
