If you’ve ever stayed with us at the AmericInn in Valley City, there’s a good chance your morning started with a warm smile, a hot breakfast, and a heart full of gratitude—all thanks to Cleo, our beloved breakfast attendant.

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, during the opening session of the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Global Conference in Las Vegas, in front of a crowd of more than 6,000 people, Cleo was honored on stage by Shilpan Patel, Executive Vice President of North America Operations. She was recognized as a shining example of what hospitality is truly about—a kind heart, a joyful spirit, and a quiet grace that makes a lasting impact.
This recognition is the result of the constant praise Cleo receives from our guests. Here's one recent unforgettable example, sent to us earlier this spring by a traveler:
