Last Night at Camp Vandemere thunder and lightning came and went, the lights flickered but God made it possible for the storm to be calm, and we were able to have Orientation even for those online.

Operation Solid Lives Discipleship/Leadership Course Orientation was at Camp Vandemere ........7pm Yesterday!! Here is some of what went down.
In Opening Pastor Edwin explained Operation Solid Lives (OSL), a proven discipleship system that has been effective for over 40 years in discipling believers and helping them grow spiritually. He emphasized that discipleship is both a command to become disciples and to disciple others, distinguishing between casual Christians and committed believers through dedicated discipline and training. He encouraged those invited to embrace the required adjustments for spiritual growth, noting that while there may be an adversary trying to keep people in old patterns, God provides the freedom and support needed to break free from those bonds.
He then discussed Romans 10:9, explaining that confession of Jesus as Lord and belief in His resurrection leads to salvation. He also emphasized the importance of sharing testimony about God's love while avoiding confrontational approaches with non-believers. Pastor concluded by providing guidance on how to share the salvation message through simple testimony, and leading into heartfelt prayers.
Pastor Edwin continued as he discussed the changes one can expect in their new life after accepting Jesus Christ, including inner peace, awareness of God's love, and concern for others' spiritual growth. He emphasized the importance of baptism as a public declaration of the change in one's life and highlighted Jesus' command to make disciples and baptize them. Pastor stressed that true discipleship involves actively bringing others to Christ rather than just inviting them to church.
In closing he discussed the importance of developing a relationship with God and emphasized that Level 1 of the program, which typically lasts 4 weeks but has been extended to 8-12 weeks, focuses on helping participants experience a fresh and intimate relationship with Jesus. The Pastor explained that giving time to God is crucial, especially in these trying times; He suggested spending the first 30-40 minutes of each morning in prayer and conversation with God. Then stressed the importance of becoming disciplined followers of Jesus Christ, encouraging participants to speak truth, pray regularly, and seek to cleanse their hearts from negative worldly influences.
Pastor discussed the importance of becoming a disciplined follower of Jesus, citing Jesus' promise in John 14 that believers will do works even greater than His, we shared four spiritual thoughts before closing; focusing on love, encouraging the congregation to examine their kindness towards strangers, bitterness towards others, and stereotyping of certain groups. The discussion concluded with questions about irritability, complaining spirits, and extending help to the poor and vulnerable. Closed in Prayer!!

The course Commences each Wed. and Sunday evenings 7pm. We have a large Online group that will be joining us for the next 12 weeks as we commit in this temporary fast for the 12 weeks. The Door is open for the first week for others to join in person at Camp Vandemere in the Chapel or Online.
