Located along the state-designated Wild and Scenic Myakka River and adjacent to U.S. 41, Senator Bob Johnson’s Landing offers more than seven acres of natural beauty and water access on the outskirts of North Port. Visitors can enjoy a range of amenities, including a universally accessible canoe and kayak launch with a wash station, fishing areas, picnic shelters, restrooms, trails and opportunities for viewing birds and wildlife.

Opened in 2019, the park provides direct access to the Myakka River, making it a popular destination for paddling and outdoor recreation. The park improvements highlight Sarasota County’s continued commitment to expanding public access to natural lands and waterways. The original park site was acquired in 2009 through the Neighborhood Parkland Acquisition Program. In 2025, Sarasota County purchased the adjacent property through the program to expand the existing park.

CCE Staff will be painting the interior of the Activity Building this summer.
Clubhouse was painted two years ago...time for the Activity Building to get a fresh coat of paint.

The SAC Committee is having a Pot Luck Dinner Celebration.
Use the pool area, crank the music up, dance, turn on the TV/watch celebrations and enjoy the CCE neighborhood celebration.

CITY OF VENICE IMPROVEMENTS:
We’re putting the finishing touches on Northeast Venice Park and are pleased to invite the community to celebrate the official ribbon cutting and grand opening on June 15!
Join the City of Venice as we open this beautiful new green space designed for recreation, relaxation, and connection. This exciting addition to our parks system reflects our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality public spaces for residents and visitors alike.

Date: Monday, June 15
Time: 9 a.m.
Location: Northeast Venice Park, 3560 Laurel Road E.

The event will include an official ribbon cutting ceremony with City leaders, brief remarks from project partners and community representatives, and an opportunity to explore the 4.8-acre park’s amenities.
Park features include 8 outdoor pickleball courts, a fitness trail with equipment, walking path, 2-to-5 and 5-to-12-year-old playgrounds with shade structures, large and small dog park areas, restrooms, and paved parking.
Planning for Northeast Venice Park began in fall 2021 with a Stakeholders Group meeting to discuss desired amenities. Park construction began in May 2025. This was a design-build project with engineering firm Kimley-Horn and contractor A2 Group, Inc.
We anticipate a strong turnout the morning of June 15 and encourage carpooling if possible. We look forward to celebrating with you!

CCE finished their harbor construction project in April 2026, new docks, 30', 40' and 45' docks. Installed 29 new 10K lifts and 5 new 13K lifts, repaired other lifts and electric was also updated.

120 boat slips: plenty of availability if you are thinking of buying a boat or want to purchase a home in CCE.
