The campground is full this weekend but don’t let that stop your fun!

Come down to enjoy the water, shelter, and lookout deck, explore the trails, or stop up at the Day use area and enjoy a meal in the shade.

Please BEAR with us as we finish up improvements at the campground. We're almost done with infrastructure work on the bathhouse and are also installing an awesome NEW playset. Huge thanks to SD GFP for their invaluable assistance with both projects. The park is in bloom, and the weather's amazing! We hope to see you soon. (Don't forget the 2026 River Honoring Ceremony on Sunday, June 14, from 5-9:00!)

We're excited to announce openings for (2) at-large positions on the CCP Board. The board meets on third Thursdays at 5:30 for 1-2 hours. Each member serves on 1-2 committees and volunteer an additional 6-10 hours each year to help with various cleanup projects, painting picnic tables, clearing brush, etc. Each seat serves a 3-year term. If you enjoy Clay County Park and are looking for a great way to volunteer, this might be perfect for you.

📣 Clay County Park Campground is open for the 2026 season. This campground is the perfect little place under trees to get away from the hustle and bustle. We have several RV and tent sites as well as one cabin.

The multi use park and the nearby town of Vermillion have a lot to offer.

If you’re a vacationer, just traveling through, or coming to town for special events like USD graduation, we recommend spending the night at the campground. 🏕️

The 2026 River Honoring Ceremony will be held riverside at Clay County Park on Sunday, June 14, from 5-9PM. Community potluck dinner begins at 5, followed by 2 speakers from the local Native community, 2 local bands, NPS Kids' River Trailer, and other activities for the kiddos. All are welcome, if you'd like, please bring a dish to pass and a comfortable chair. Come and join our community as we celebrate the Missouri National Recreational River, backbone of our local and regional community, history, and identity.
