May 2- so much has happened. So, after Ray’s Celebration of Life on Sunday the 26th, Mommy and Daddy headed back to Va. They spent the night of the 27th with Tommy and Pat on the farm in Culpepper. Then on Tuesday, they headed to Thousand Trails in Gladys. They arrived on Tuesday. Bertie and Charles came on Friday. Mommy and Daddy visited Chris and Shields. They got to see Eric and Sarah. Bonnie was there also. They are planning to eat dinner with Darrel and Lynn on Thursday evening. Next week will be a time of sightseeing for them. Next Saturday will be another service for Ray in New Castle, Va. Bella and Gracie are half sisters.

April 9- it has been a while since anything has been journaled. God was planning the trip all the time! He needed Mommy to be in Maryland with her brother who was diagnosed with lung cancer. Mommy found out on Good Friday! So we left Curtis’ on Easter Sunday, along with our new family member, Bella! We are now in the Amish country, Kirkwood, Pa! It is so pretty. I am hearing a lot about how nice I am. Daddy gave me a bath before we left Virginia! We are trying to get closer to Baltimore, where Ray is. Not sure at this point how long we will stay here.

So the end of March! Time flies! Mommy has been visiting friends and family! Her and Daddy went to Chris and Judy’s house today after going to Don Ho’s to eat. Mommy spent yesterday with Jaden! She is having a good time! She hopes to see more family tomorrow.

March 30- here we are at Cindy and Curtis’ place. I think they like me, but I seem to cause problems.

Yesterday it wasn’t me, though! It was Casper. He rolled forward and locked up the Blue Ox thing I tow him with, which is fine now, but Mommy had to drive Casper from Maxton, NC to Roanoke, Va, but we all made it alright. Mommy is planning for them to visit family while she is here and Daddy is planning to get me some new brakes, so I am not smoking hot any more! Oh, well, you can’t win ‘em all!

Day 2 - Mommy and Daddy really have this trip locked down! We made it all the way to the Georgia rest stop last night. And now are headed to Bojangles in Pooler. Nothing will keep these Floridians from a Bojangles biscuit!

Not sure how they plan to get them once they are there because I don’t think I will fit in the drive through! Yep, my door is stuck and a nice man with a doggy has already tried to use the keys to no avail. I don’t mind it, but I don’t think Mommy and Daddy are too happy. Mommy called someone and said “I guess you don’t get too many calls that people are locked in, huh? I am at the county jail, can you come get me out?” Then they laughed. I hope they don’t think I am like being in jail!

Someone is supposed to meet them soon and get my door open. Mommy and Daddy sure know how to keep a trip exciting! What next?

(Please don’t try this at home)

Day 1- Well, we started our big adventure today with Casper the friendly jeep in tow and Vero Beach fading in his rear view mirror!

It has been a smoking, hot adventure so far! Mommy was supposed to meet her nephew, Eric and leave something with him. It is a very valuable (to her) picture that she did not want to put in storage and when Eric asked for it, Mommy decided he could keep it for her. He agreed. However, God was not having any part of it!

Mommy and Daddy were late, but Eric agreed to meet anyway and get the picture, but he went to the wrong place. So they agreed to meet at a rest area, so off we went! Not even a mile and there is smoke rolling from under my back tire! Mommy dialed 911 and the firetrucks came blazing! By this time, the smoke has cleared, but the firefighters offered some helpful info and a mere eight hours later we are back on the road with not as many resources as we started with. It seems a caliber got stuck, whatever that means and we are going to look into getting me new brakes soon! I hope that works. Things were sure heating up today!

Needless to say, Mommy still has the picture and it will decorate one of my walls. I think it was God who slowed us down today. For whatever the reason, I think she is supposed to keep that picture. We plan to stay in St. Augustine tonight and head on to our next adventure tomorrow! Hopefully it will not involve firetrucks!

We are thankful for all the nice people who helped us today! And sad because we are leaving Florida without seeing Eric again.

Mommy and Daddy are getting ready to spend all their time with me! They have visited and visited getting me ready for the long trip! They have one more BIG load to bring and they will spend the night tomorrow (Tuesday) night! Daddy is taking me tomorrow to get the heated floors fixed. Mommy will finish everything in the house. A neighbor is helping. The only thing left will be the food and finishing the garage! Wow, have they been busy! Mommy said Lindsay and her family really helped her or they could not have gotten so much done this quick!
They will be in the area a couple more weeks and then South Carolina will our next adventure!
Daddy and Mommy are just enjoying memories now in the house where they met 2 years ago. Daddy spent a lot of time there with his family! It will sad saying goodbye to friends.
Time has brought change and I am part of that change. I hope we see some really cool places together and time will bring more change, no doubt.
We are living in the moment for the moment and by the moment, not overwhelmed by the future or paralyzed by the past. We will move forward by faith, refusing to be limited by fear. We will allow life to find a comfortable place to rest in the space they will soon call home while making more friends and more memories.
Sincerely, Snug Buggy
