Day 1- Well, we started our big adventure today with Casper the friendly jeep in tow and Vero Beach fading in his rear view mirror!
It has been a smoking, hot adventure so far! Mommy was supposed to meet her nephew, Eric and leave something with him. It is a very valuable (to her) picture that she did not want to put in storage and when Eric asked for it, Mommy decided he could keep it for her. He agreed. However, God was not having any part of it!
Mommy and Daddy were late, but Eric agreed to meet anyway and get the picture, but he went to the wrong place. So they agreed to meet at a rest area, so off we went! Not even a mile and there is smoke rolling from under my back tire! Mommy dialed 911 and the firetrucks came blazing! By this time, the smoke has cleared, but the firefighters offered some helpful info and a mere eight hours later we are back on the road with not as many resources as we started with. It seems a caliber got stuck, whatever that means and we are going to look into getting me new brakes soon! I hope that works. Things were sure heating up today!
Needless to say, Mommy still has the picture and it will decorate one of my walls. I think it was God who slowed us down today. For whatever the reason, I think she is supposed to keep that picture. We plan to stay in St. Augustine tonight and head on to our next adventure tomorrow! Hopefully it will not involve firetrucks!
We are thankful for all the nice people who helped us today! And sad because we are leaving Florida without seeing Eric again.
