About Us
Erin Chandler is an author, actress and life-long traveler. Her memoir June Bug Versus Hurricanechronicles life on the road between Kentucky, Las Vegas, Maine, Texas and California. Her latest book, Cinderella Sweeping Upis a collection of essays released in July 2019. As an actress, Erin worked for decades in Hollywood doing film, television and plays. She returned to Versailles, the hometown she left at eight years old, in 2010 after twenty-two years in Los Angeles and went back to school, receiving an MFA in Creative Writing and a Masters in Theatre. Erin’s partner, Mark Thomas also returned to Kentucky after living in Washington DC for over twenty years where he worked at the Smithsonian Museum Portrait Gallery and later turned his attention to the hotel, bar and restaurant industry where he lived in the Dupont Circle area. Opening restaurants, he created inviting atmospheres alongside world renowned chefs such as Jose Andres. His love of food, art, travel and history make hosting an Airbnb a perfect fit. A bright, new fulfilling world opened up to both Mark and Erin, who met while studying English and Dramatic Arts at the University of Kentucky as undergraduates. They look forward to making your visit to beautiful Woodford County so special you will want to return to the Old Courthouse Inn again and again.
This beautiful home was built in the 1700s when Kentucky was still Virginia. The stone structure in the center of the home was the first Court House in Woodford County. The original hard wood floors in each room are exquisite and soft to walk on. High ceilings and thick walls give a grande, private feeling. New kitchen appliances and dish wear add an eclectic feel against the antique furniture. Comfortable couch and brand new queen size bed will assure a good nights sleep.
