How can I sum up our 2 night visit in just a few sentences???? Elise made sure that everything was perfect and it was. I am gluten free and she cooked the most delicious gluten free food, I felt so pampered and spoiled. We stayed in the My Fair Lady suite and it made me feel like a Princess. I loved it. The decorating and attention to detail was amazing. We enjoyed her beautiful, scenic backyard and were constantly entertained by Summer & Boots. The Inn itself is beautiful and serene. We spent a great deal of time sitting in that beautiful living room. I would recommend this Inn to anyone who wants to be treated like royalty and loves and appreciates great food and great attention to detail. Elise, Veronica, Pat and Juana were wonderful and I am so thankful and blessed to have been a part of your lives for a little while." Close to everything...worlds apart!

Ah, the sweet light of morning at the Inn!
We love our tall, glossy, ornamental Banana Trees that return year after year. They serve as a backdrop to our Adirondack chairs and firepit. Beautiful!
There are so many places to relax at A Storybook Inn.

The nearly 100-year old pond (with 16-yr old waterfalls) in the courtyard of A Storybook Inn looks stunning this year! Refreshing pause in summer heat. Water Lilies in bloom. Running water is so soothing, don't you think?

As the sun is sinking in the West, many guests enjoy their time, sitting above the waterfalls, chatting and relaxing. (No mosquitos!).

A hat-tip to our sharp, young employee Carolyn for donning waders and cleaning and trimming the pond, and to Mike H. for repairing the waterfalls, so the water flows down and not backward into the earth! Yay!

Newsflash! The Huntsman Chase Guesthouse is now available Derby weekend. The family that booked a year ago had to reschedule due to a family wedding.
The well-appointed spotless Guesthouse has 3 bedrooms. 3 private baths. A full kitchen. A greatroom. A deck. A front porch and all of the amenities of the main Inn.

Our rave-worthy breakfast is steps away in the large glass Conservatory of the main Inn.

You get triple bang for your buck to stay in horse country (quaint, historic Versailles) instead of Louisville, and is an easy drive to Churchill Downs.

At this juncture on the calendar, we are planning for a new year. Many of us had good things but also faced struggles and a myriad of challenges in 2025.

We are praying that 2026 will be a peaceful calm between the rapids of the wild ride called life. I (Elise, Innkeeper) am doing well now, but the last 4 years were a series of health challenges. In October, there was the head injury and concussion.

But as I mentioned, I am doing well and honestly looking forward to a good year in 2026.

My relationship with God is not a crutch. It is the very reason I am an Innkeeper. The Inn was His idea, and it is His strength and peace and joy that empowers me to serve others with excellence and warm, authentic hospitality.

And it's wonderful guests like you that keep choosing A Storybook Inn that brings a smile to my heart and my face. Heartfelt thanks!!
May you have an outstanding year ahead, and we hope that we are a part of it.
