Hi friends. 2021 brings a shift in focus for us and our recovery from the Holiday Farm Fire. There is, to be sure, a lot of cleanup yet to be done, but we are also turning toward returning to the property and beginning our rebuild. As we refocus, we do so with hope and faith, as we now have real numbers and face a significant "gap" between insurance and real costs. We are so incredibly grateful for so much generous support of all kinds from so many of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Recently we were asked if we have a go-fund-me option, and we do (thank you, Kass). This leads us to post it here again for convenience. Please know that any contribution helps and every kindness is an encouragement. God bless you all.

We have made so much progress in the past two months. Thanks to all of you who have helped us—either through this site—or privately. We continue to clean up, and have an architect and builder. Yesterday we planted trees which was so life-giving. We appreciate our supportive and loving village!

for now
that we will not say
the breaking
makes us stronger
or that it is better
to have this pain
than to have done
without this love.

Let us promise
we will not
tell ourselves
time will heal
the wound,
when every day
our waking
opens it anew.

Perhaps for now
it can be enough
to simply marvel
at the mystery
of how a heart
so broken
can go on beating,
as if it were made
for precisely this—

as if it knows
the only cure for love
is more of it,

as if it sees
the heart’s sole remedy
for breaking
is to love still,

as if it trusts
that its own
persistent pulse
is the rhythm
of a blessing
we cannot
begin to fathom
but will save us
nonetheless.

It is time for another ! This picture is of Great Spring at Clear Lake. Clear Lake was formed around 2300 years ago when an eruption from the sand mountains blocked the flow of the McKenzie River, causing it to backfill and create one of the clearest and coldest lakes in the Cascades.
