Heavensgate River Cottage 1

Heavensgate River Cottage 1 I will be taking this Facebook post down soon. Unfortunately our cabin burned down in the holiday farm fire, September 9, 2020.

Permanently closed.

It was devastating but someday there will be another cabin to replace it.

Hopefully the cabin will be rebuilt by summer of 2022 after the Holiday Farm Fire burned it down in September of 2020.

We unfortunately are selling our place. It has been cleared, and will be gorgeous again. Call me at 206-817-9909 if interested in having a cabin at Heavens Gate.
The $99k( land use ans floodplain permits done and transferrable) includes the 4 acres, lots of River!, a shed, and meadow across the road which you share with the other 3 owners.
We are just
Look too far away now.

Hi Everyone. Change of plans. We are unfortunately selling the cabin location ( comes with 4 acres of meadow and forest- untouched by the fire)that is shared with 3 others) for $109K. If you are interested, call me at 206-8917-9909. So, passing on the future of this great location to someone else. You won't find a better location for the price. It all approved for building with Lane County and I have the Zoning Permit Approved.

Hi there everyone we finally got approved to rebuild on the existing footprint of our 1942 cabin - Cabin #1.
Incase you missed it ...our cabin burned down in the holiday farm fire on September 9th.
Because the cabin was built so long ago it’s grandfathered in , so yes, you will still be able to fish from the deck!
We are still waiting for FEMA to do the phase 2 clean up, Then it’s a lot of permits and jumping through hoops.
Nancy and I intend for the cabin to look exactly like the 1942 cabin did when you open the door... the rustic elegance but you have been used to.

The exciting main difference is that the bathroom and shower will be looking out over the river now( there’s a big window there < or will be that is>but don’t worry there’s also a wall to hide behind), instead of the road.
There will be a stackable washer and dryer inside a closet.

The kitchen will be a little bit bigger.

Around the cabin will be planted many native species of shrubs and trees, to accompany the big Douglas firs (140 yrs old) and Western Redcedar that made it through the fire and all the alder and cottonwood trees along the river.

The master bedroom will still have a king size bed and improved views of the river.
The cabin will be incredibly well insulated for heat and sound and yes there will be a fireplace, plus a heat pump heat and there will still be air-conditioning.
The artesian well water will it be even better now because we’re putting in all brand new pipes coming to the cabin.

We are still in the design stage with a super talented architect,( who grew up on the river in the late 1950’s)and we have no idea when the cabin will be open again but I would hope it’s going to be by the fall/ winter of 2021.

The outside of the cabin will be fire resistant now, but it looks like wood.

We will even offer parking across the street in a specified parking area with our own access, and yes, the 4 acre “Morning Meadow” is still there for strolling in the sun.

So,
It’s still going to be a while but get ready for the Blue Heaven Cabin at Heaven’s Gate...Like the sword ferns that are already coming up all around,it will soon rise from the ashes!

We plan on rebuilding our cabin that was burned down and we plan on making it as rustic romantic and beautiful on the inside as it was last time you saw it.
It might take a while though.

Wildfire has devastated our area! I am still not even sure the cabin is there anymore. Since 1941 it has made it through everything, but I was told it burned down Wednesday ( September 9th). BUT, I have no photos yet to confirm, as no one can get in, the fire is still going.
Jeff and Nancy 😞

Hi everyone today’s September 14 and it was confirmed yesterday with photos that the cabin and all the others in the area to include Heaven’s Gate burned up and are gone.
But we will be rebuilding ironically the Corridor above the cabins have all the crowns still green in. the trees and ironically the trees across the river are still green , we can’t see the mountains yet due to the smoke in the photos.
Obviously no one’s allowed into the area right now. Looks like it was a very highly intense surface fire in our area just above the ground carried by high winds from the north ( Mt Hagan) and from the east.
Heaven’s Gate will be back some day with the same charm that it has always had if not better.
Thank you for your nice comments.

Our Cozy Romanitc Riverfront Cabins

These 2 one bedroom cottages are privately owned, and have been making memories for people since 1941 when they were called Seymour’s Ranch. Cabins one and four are large one bedroom cabins-they are not studios, there are two separate rooms; A Great Room with a fireplace, and a large master bedroom with a king bed. The views and sounds of the river are incredible.
