Recently in the news, is a new discovery of a Super Nova in the spiral arms of galaxy NGC7331 at over 43 million light years away (13.4 megaparsecs) in the constellation Pegasus. Second photo is zoomed in to show the location of the Super Nova in the galaxy. Photo was taken 9-6-26 with the Planewave CDK20 Telescope.

Finally acquired a good image of Saturn thru the PlaneWave CDK20 telescope 9-6-26. I have been struggling with getting good planet photos lately. Since the replacement of the laptop, the ZWO ASI183mc pro CCD camera has not worked correctly (hardware and software issues). I worked about 3 hours early this morning to obtain ONE good photo and think I finally made some progress!

The Total Lunar Eclipse last night 8-27-26 was almost clouded out! But we had an opening and some stray clouds during the totality. (right where we needed it the most!) These were taken with the small scope on top of the 20inch. The Stellarvue SV80 has a wider field of view so we can see all of the Moon unlike the Planewave. This eclipse gave a spooky eerie feeling because of the clouds, but still gave spectacular, mesmerizing views!

I was exploring near the constellation Cygnus last night 7-14-26 with the PlaneWave CDK20. The Veil Nebula is a huge complex forming a Super Nova Remnant from a massive Stellar explosion 20,000 yrs ago. Last photo is the Bubble Nebula nearby. Cosmicmark.

Due to current fire conditions and the increased risk of wildfires, our area is operating under a Stage 2 Fire Ban. These restrictions are designed to protect our community, natural resources, and visitors by reducing activities that could accidentally start a fire.

Under a Stage 2 Fire Ban, all open fires are prohibited, including campfires, charcoal grills, burn barrels, and the use of fireworks. Additional restrictions apply to smoking outdoors, welding, or operating equipment that could create sparks. At this time, all smoking is restricted to inside your own vehicle.
