Join Northern Nevada Ghost Hunters on Wednesday, May 28th at the historic Gold Hill Hotel for an evening of dinner, history and hands-on ghost investigation.

Begin the evening at the Crown Point Restaurant, then step deeper into the hotel for a guided paranormal investigation where guests actively participate using investigative equipment in a small-group setting.

They say Virginia City was born from a broken bottle of whiskey, and the town hasn’t dried out since. In this special “Drunk History” session, Taylor C. Hamby pours out the intoxicating truth behind the Comstock Lode’s liquid legends. The talk traces the town’s origins from “Old Virginny” Finney’s accidental christening to the arrival of “Professor” Jerry Thomas, the father of American mixology, who tended bar at the Delta during the boom. Discover the whiskey-soaked habits of Mark Twain at the Territorial Enterprise, explore the rowdy reality of 1860s saloons, and see how Lucius Beebe and Charles Clegg resurrected the era’s elegance with mid-century martinis and champagne. Pull up a stool for a journey through the booze that built the West—straight up history, with a twist.

Welcome to the 2026 Ghost Tour series at the Gold Hill Hotel! Reservation still available Thursday 4/23 & 4/30!

The Gold Hill Hotel (as seen on Ghost Adventures and proclaimed the 8th most haunted location in Nevada) is now offering Historical Ghost Tours. These tours benefit various local charities. Hosted by the Northern Nevada Ghost Hunters (NNGH), your evening will start with a gourmet dinner in the Crown Point restaurant (one of the best restaurants on the Comstock).

After dinner, NNGH will guide you back in time with tales of the history and the hauntings of the hotel and the surrounding area, known as Slippery Gulch. Using ghost hunting tools and techniques, you can try to make contact with the spirits still in residence at the hotel. Please note that you will be touring some of the actual haunted rooms in the hotel as well!

Before the tour or during the intermission, quench your thirst and calm your nerves with a drink in the 150 year old bar, as frequented by Mark Twain back in the day! This is sure to be an evening to remember. Come join us! Click the link below to reserve your spot:

Today, besides being Good Friday, is also our 5th anniversary as owners of the Gold Hill Hotel and Crown Point Restaurant!

We feel honored to have been able to be a part of the amazing history and contined legacy of the oldest operating Hotel in Nevada! We are proud to say we have graduated our 3 sons from Virginia City HS (all of whom are now serving our Country).

We feel tremendously grateful for the Comstock community, our amazing family and staff members, and all our great guests that have supported us from day one! We hope to make sure this historic and iconic Hotel, Restaurant, and Saloon continue to be a staple in Northern Nevada for many years to come!

All I can say is wow. This woman Rebel Reuterkus was at our bar eating dinner tonight and as you can see on the video, she steals our daughters school project! She is a teacher and had chatted with her about the project. When confronted she lied and said she didn't know where it is.

We cant make these things up. And she is a school teacher! We have her email and phone number. If she is in a local establishment please send her back to the Gold Hill Hotel and Crown Point Restaurant.
