Hello everyone. It’s been a while since I last posted so I would like to update you on what has been going on at The Crooked Birch.
We have made the decision to sell our home to a wonderful couple from the area. It will no longer be a short term rental as they will make it their personal home. With that being said we are no longer taking bookings. The house/property has been a labor of love for 4 years but also filled with times of great beauty as Lake Superior never disappoints even when the smoke from the fires have tried to dampen the blue skies above. We will miss many things including all the great people we have met and worked with on this adventure. In the meantime our current guests will have one last opportunity to enjoy as we get ready to let the new owners love this house and property as much as we have.

We did manage to get some time on the shore, despite the fire it was a beautiful along the shoreline, water is still very cold. Mr. Seagull decided to join us as we were in his space. He flew off after awhile deciding he wasn’t getting fed and we weren’t leaving so why hang around.

Joe’s masterpiece lasted 2 days before nature took it down. Tallest one he’s done yet.

Beauty amongst the cold. We have coyote and bobcat tracks long our shoreline. We know the bobcat uses the steps along the side of the house in it’s travels due to the paw prints left behind. Why drudge through the snow when you can take a shoveled path. Smart cat.
