Last Saturday was filled with family fun at Mille Lacs Island Resort during our Kids Crafts, Bingo & Food Truck Event! 🎨🎉🍔

Residents and their families enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of creativity, friendly competition, and delicious food. The kids had a blast making crafts, neighbors gathered for exciting rounds of bingo, and everyone enjoyed great food and treats from the food truck.

Events like these bring our community together, creating lasting memories and strengthening the connections that make Mille Lacs Island Resort such a special place to call home.

A special thank you to Legacy Communities for sponsoring this event and continuing to support opportunities that bring fun, fellowship, and engagement to our residents.

COLD TEMPERATURES...Because of the cold temperatures over the last few weeks (snow flurries yesterday), the water will not be turned on before May 1st. I know a lot of people were hopeful but Mother Nature did not feel like co-operating. We plan to have it flowing by May 1st unless we have several below zero nights. We want to protect our pipes and yours as well. We will keep you posted.

REMINDER...all contracts and payments are due by Wednesday, April 15th at 5:00 PM. This does not mean postmarked by that date or emailed at 11:59 PM. You can pay through the portal and email your contract too. Late fees will be applied if you miss the deadline.

HELPING YOU SELL...NO CHARGE! As we are not going to be set-up to broker homes until the end of the summer, we want to help those who would like to put their homes on the market. If you would like to email us your home details, we will put together a flyer for all available private sale homes. Interested buyers can pick-up a copy at the office and we can also email it to prospects. It's our way of helping spread the word.

SELLING YOUR HOME? There are a few things to take into consideration. First, your buyers need to complete and submit an application. You can find the app at our website (millelacsislandresort.com). The application fee is $40. This covers a financial and criminal background check. Second, we have to measure your home for impervious surface. Homes are allowed up to 425 square feet of coverage outside of the home. This is a county mandate. We measure the deck, shed, steps, paving stones, etc. If it is over the limit, it must be brought into compliance before we will approve the buyer and issue a new lease. Finally, a $2000 membership fee must be presented one the buyer is approved. We ask that from the buyer but however the seller and buyer work that out is between the parties. If you received an invoice stating you owe a balance and it's due April 1st...ignore it. The invoices were auto-generated by mistake from the home office. Balances are due by April 15th as stated in your lease. If you've already paid you are good to go!

WHEN ARE YOU OPENING? We have gotten that question dozens of times. As your contract states, we open May 1st and close October 1st. The water will be shut-off the first Monday in October. If we can open earlier we will but that depends on the weather. To open ten days early with frozen ground and frozen pipes causes considerable damage. We will begin temperature probes mid-April. If we turn the water on early we will post it here. There is no need to call or email the office in March asking if we will be open April 15th. We can't forecast that far in advance. Assume the answer is "no" until you hear differently from us. Don't listen to rumors or "in past years..." because that does not pertain to this year.

2026 leases were mailed out more than two weeks ago. They were sent to the addresses we had on file for you. If you have not received them yet we can email you the documents. You will be responsible for printing and signing if that is the case. Again, DO NOT take photos of the docs. Scan or mail.
