Happy to announce after 2.5 long months of working round the clock every single day while managing a toddler and full time jobs... the Hudson Homestead is live and ready for booking! 2 months ago I was in shambles, and so was our house, I didn't even know where to begin and I cant believe we finally crossed the finish line. Everything you will see in this listing was done by our hands, including the floor and paint. All the decor was selected by my amazing mother. We have worked tirelessly after being majorly screwed by our former long term tenants and said "never again." So we wanted to open our amazing homestead for other families to enjoy while being able to maintain our property and never allow someone the opportunity to destroy it again. We embark on this new venture, terrified, exhausted but optimistic, and mostly just relieved to have our gorgeous property back from the clutches of my horrid tenants. We welcome any feedback you may have!

Here's a cautionary tale I have to share because not everything on a homestead is cute baby goats and rainbow chicken eggs. I got this silkie from some random girl not too far from me. The second I got her I knew something was wrong and she was sick. Spent the last two weeks treating her with everything under the sun and making sure she was comfortable. She seemed to be doing much better and then this morning took a big turn for the worst. She was wheezing, could barely pick her head up. Clearly the lady who sold her knew she was sick and got rid of her for profit. Please make sure you get your animals from reputable sources who are doing this for the love of animals and not to make a quick buck. I don't care about the money I lost buying her and then buying everything I needed to take care of her which added up quick. It's about the fact that when you are caring for an animal so closely you build a bond and get attached and then have to make the horribly difficult decision to end their suffering. Lesson learned, I will never again buy any animal without doing my due diligence on the source. R.I.P Gloria, we tried our best girl 🙏

Meet the Hudson Homestead Herd! Up first is Billy, the head of the herd. He's a handsome blue eyed buck. He's a cuddly boy who loves pets and smarter than the average goat, always getting the rest of the heard into trouble. Next is Dexter, sweet and calm, he is Billy's twin brother and yet they could not be more different and spend the day playing and butting heads. Next up is our doe Daisy, she's a bit skittish until she warms up and has the funniest bleats. Lastly we have Lily, our newest momma to a doeling. She is super sweet but brave and has no problem ramming the dogs when they get too close. We got all of them as kids and it's been amazing watching them grow into their personalities.
