This weekend, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice — along with the strength of their families — will never be forgotten. ❤️🤍💙

As we gather with friends and family around campfires, on the trails, and along the river this weekend, we are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy because of those who served.

🇺🇸 Welcome to Memorial Day Weekend at Walhonding Hills Campground! 🇺🇸

As we kick off our inaugural season as the new operators of Walhonding Hills, we want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for choosing to spend your holiday weekend with us. We’re incredibly excited to welcome so many campers, riders, families, and friends to the hills for what we hope will be an unforgettable summer ahead.

Most importantly this weekend, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country — and the families who carry that sacrifice with them every day. We are grateful beyond words for their service and dedication. ❤️🤍💙

Our #1 priority this weekend is making sure everyone has a SAFE, healthy, and enjoyable holiday weekend. Spread the word to your guests! Please help us by keeping safety top of mind while enjoying the campground and trails:

⚠️ ATV & Off-Road Safety Reminders:
• Minors must wear helmets and eye protection at all times
• Adults are required to wear helmets and eye protection on the trails and after sundown
• Helmet use is strongly encouraged throughout camper village as well — 9.5 MPH!!!
• Please ride responsibly, respect speed limits, and watch for fellow campers, children, and pedestrians

A few quick campground updates:
✅ Online reservations are now available for primitive and weekend camping @ walhondinghills.com
✅ Liability waivers can now be completed online before arrival
✅ We now accept credit cards both in-store and on our website
✅ Be sure to stop into the camp store and check out all the new items and supplies available this season

We’re expecting a FULL campground this weekend, so please be mindful of water and electric usage whenever possible. A little conservation and neighborly courtesy goes a long way in helping everyone enjoy their stay.

🏊 The pool is up and — weather and temperature permitting — should be ready for use this weekend! Please remember there is NO lifeguard on duty, so parents and guardians should keep a close eye on the kiddos at all times.

Thank you again for being part of this exciting new chapter at Walhonding Hills Campground. We truly appreciate your support and patience as we continue making improvements and building something special here in the hills.

Hello Walhonding Hills Campers,

We’re incredibly excited and truly grateful to introduce ourselves as the new ownership group of Walhonding Hills Campground.

First and foremost, we want to extend our sincere appreciation to the Lowe family. Their decades of stewardship, care, and dedication have built something special here, a beautiful property and a cherished camping community that means so much to so many. We’re honored to carry that legacy forward and thankful for their partnership throughout this transition.

Our goal is simple. To continue the great care and service that Walhonding Hills Campground has always been known for, while thoughtfully building for the future. We will be focusing on a few key areas:

- The health and safety of our ATV enthusiasts

- Infrastructure improvements to meet the growing needs of our campers

- Expanded events and activities that bring people together

We will be sharing more details on these initiatives soon, along with improvements to our website experience, including online reservations, payments, waivers, and a waitlist system.

For those who don’t know us, Matt Crumpton and Jerry DePizzo are heading into our sixth season as seasonal RV campground owner operators. We also operate River Bend Family Campground in Caledonia, Ohio, where we focus on seasonal RV camping along with events, activities, and amenities designed to enhance the overall experience. Our approach to camping centers on creating an environment where people can gather, relax, and enjoy their time together in a safe and welcoming setting.

We know there are a lot of questions, and we will be addressing them in the near future. In the meantime, we want to make sure our seasonal campers can plan accordingly, so here is the end of season schedule developed in consultation with Cindy to reflect the traditions many of you are used to:

10/10 Pumpkin Roll + Trick or Treat for the kids

10/15 Water service shuts off for winterization and guest ATV riding closes for the season

11/29 End of seasonal camper ATV riding season

12/6 Gates close for the year at 5pm

For those who have stayed on property for hunting in past seasons, that opportunity will be available this season and will be coordinated with our team later in the year.

We are grateful for this opportunity, excited about what our team can bring to Walhonding Hills, and deeply appreciative of the warm welcome we have already received.

Who's ready for trick or treat weekend! Just a reminder Saturday October 11th we will be having our Halloween weekend. The pumpkin roll will start on top of the hill at 1pm. (B.Y.O.P.)-bring your own pumpkin. Plaques and prizes will be given out and all age groups are welcome to participate as well as adults. Trick or treat will be from 5pm-7pm. Look forward to seeing all the costumes and don't forget to stop in the store to have a free chance to win $100 and guess how much pieces of candy are in the jar. See y'all soon!
