Hello AHRV guests. There is a ton of misconception when it comes to an RVs electrical system and use of space heaters. From top to bottom, front to back, side to side, a $15,000 RV/Camper and a $200,000 RV/Camper, whether its 30 or 50 amp, are going to be virtually identical when it comes to the electrical. Space heaters simply ARE NOT SAFE to use. Many will say they have been using one for years with no issues and its just a timebomb waiting to go off. Watch this video and pay close attention to how a breaker works, its limitations and failure points that you may not even be able to see. Do not become a statistic.

There is a potential water leak in the park that needs to be addressed immediately. This is going to require the water to the park to be turned off during the process of locating and fixing the leak. The timeframe will start around 8:30 or 9:00am this morning. Please fill your holding tanks or some containers if you wish to have access to drinking water or other uses. We do not have an ET for when the water will be back on but will always try to reduce downtime as much as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience as well as you understanding and patience.

The RV Park has lost power, along with other locations in Walnut Ridge. We have minimal battery backup so internet will only be available for short period. Hopefully the power company can resolve the issue soon but I am sure they have plenty to do.

We have inclement weather moving in and it has already started with wind gusts, which will likely increase. Please make sure your awnings are retracted as conditions can change quickly. Any outdoor furniture, rugs, plants, etc... should be moved to a secure location. In the event of a tornado warning (you will hear sirens), my family and I usually relocate to the laundry / restroom enclosure. We are approximately where arrow points.

Addendum: Maintenance is complete, and we only had to disrupt three sites, two of which are mine and spot 2. Thank you for your patience.

With this cold weather and the use of space heaters throughout the park, the main electrical panel has been pushed to its limits and caused several unplanned outages to some sites. In an attempt to eliminate this issue, we are going to have a planned outage this morning while the main breaker is replaced, and site breakers are moved around to balance the load at the panel. We do not have a start time, but the entire process should take less than half an hour.

Another update. Empower has stated there are multiple areas that have been affected by the storm. It appears they have rerouted our area to at least provide some service, however it is sketchy and slow at times. Looking at some of the damage in photos, we are fortunate to have service at all. They also stated that another front coming in will likely slow down repairs because electricity is priority over internet. The fiber crew will always step aside to let the electrical crew restore electricity first, and the points of failure for electrical and fiber are typically in the same location. Be patient and hopefully the temporary reroute is enough to fuflill our entertainment needs. Thank you.

What a wonderful evening at the Post Bakery and Bistro today. We enjoyed a great meal and some wonderful music performed by Edie who also works at the Post. This is a great place to eat and is locally owned and operated. Support your local small businesses and shop small.
