Your Local 3762 firefighters have been hard at work over the holidays serving our community 24/7, 365 days a year. In the spirit of giving, we’ve reached out to our local shelter, as well as Child and Adult Protective Services, to learn what items are most needed.

The greatest needs right now are coats, baby bottles, and twin size blankets. Our firefighters are accepting donations at any Fauquier County fire station.

Our firefighters consistently go beyond the call of duty now you can help them continue making a difference in our community

The girls are ready and we are thrilled to finally be able to offer extremely fresh (same day!) eggs to our guests. Our girls are free-ranging, happy ladies, fed a healthy mix of fruit, veg, whatever bugs and greenery they find, and chicken feed. They have a lovely run where they can peck through the grass and lounge in the sunshine, or snuggle in their coop-cabin. We’ll post more pictures of all that soon. In the meantime, we’re selling eggs, $4/half-dozen, delivered to your door. Makes you wanna come back to our little slice of country heaven doesn’t it? 😉

Dates are still available this month, the leaves are incredible, and the weather is gorgeous, so it’s the perfect time for a visit.

🌧 WEATHER ALERT 🌧

While it's currently a hot one, be prepared for some serious weather later today. A Flood Watch is in effect for our area from 2 PM today until 2 AM tomorrow, with the primary threat for flooding expected between 1 PM and 9 PM.

We could see heavy rain, with some storms dropping up to 1-2 inches per hour, and isolated spots getting even more. This could lead to flash flooding. The main severe weather threat is damaging wind gusts.

👀Remember to stay aware of the weather and have a plan in place. And please, if you see a flooded road, turn around, don't drown! Stay safe, everyone!

In case you hear crowing at random hours, or someone lamenting “oh Chad…” Well, friends, meet Chad. To be fair, his initial crows were rather pathetic, so we started encouraging him. For a while you’d hear a lot of *sad little attempt at a crow* followed by “oh well done Chad! Atta boy!” We think he liked the praise so much that we may have inadvertently started his somewhat ridiculous habit of crowing at all hours. 😬

We have a rare opening this weekend! You could spend Saturday evening enjoying the calming moos of the neighboring cows and the gentle glow of fireflies -instead of the rumble of tanks. Just a thought…

Welcome the latest additions to the Alton Far- I mean, Cottage. 🐥 These little ones are the newest addition to our wee flock. Hopefully by years end we’ll be offering fresh eggs to our guests!
