Billy is scheduled to turn on the water Tuesday, April 15. I will obtain water samples on Wednesday the 16th. Camp and Fish should be open on Friday, April 19, 2019.

UNFOUNDED RUMOR ABOUT THE LAKE LEVEL BEING LOWERED

Attached is a copy of the information I received from the DNR today.
Despite the rumors, it appears the lake level is NOT going to be lowered.

I received several calls from residents about the water level being lowered due to work on a dam on Chapman Lake. I called the DNR to obtain factual information. David Nance returned my call and I am attaching the message I received. It appears as though this was an unfounded rumor. Please feel free to forward this information to anyone/everyone.

Message from David Nance, DNR: No plans at all from the DNR this was all news to them. Apparently there is a rumor mill going about and he intends to shut it down. He said nothing is planned on their behalf and it takes two years in the court system to get an order to be able to lower lake level. He said if this is in the works by someone it is a violation of law. He said if you have any further questions you can email him and he will attach you to the conversation that has been about this subject. He also said that when he was there a few weeks ago everything was fine.

Attention Camp and Fish Residents/Tenants:

Re: Opening Day/Water Update

Greetings:

I had two conversation with Billy on Wednesday April 18, 2018. He advised that three of the pumps were frozen earlier this morning. If the water had been turned on, the pumps and lines would have likely exploded and would have all been ruined. It was approximately 22 degrees last night.

The weather channel is calling for a low of 27 degrees on Thursday, April 19. The low Friday night is supposed to be 30 but that should not be an issue.

Billy is going to begin pumping up the water system Friday. It will take all of Friday and into Saturday for the system to reach full pressure. He plans on walking the lines, looking for leaks and making necessary repairs on Sunday April 22, 2018.

On Monday April 23rd, I will obtain tests from the wells and submit those tests to IDEM. I then plan on turning the water on for everyone’s use for Wednesday April 25th.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE OR TURN ON ANY WATER UNTIL WEDNESDAY APRIL 25, 2018.

I apologize for any inconvenience the weather has caused. It is beyond my control. After consulting with Billy, neither of us recall having a spring as cold as this has been for such an extended time.

The Weather Channel is calling for below freezing temperatures on Sunday and Monday night. Sorry but the water will not be turned on until next week. The weather has been crazy this spring.
