The June board of directors meeting and special meeting of members marks a historic milestone in AH&LA’s history when members will vote on a new member model that give brands, owners, management companies, and REITs a larger role, ensures that a majority of the U.S. lodging properties are association members, and creates a sustainable funding model and a platform of broader engagement. Your participation is crucial! If you cannot make the June meeting in Denver, please make your vote count through AH&LA's proxy (http://www.ahla.com/proxy/)

While our prayers and sympathy go out to everyone affected by the terrible storms in Oklahoma this week, we want to advise all of our members in Oklahoma that the State’s Emergency Price Stabilization Act is in effect in certain counties. Under this anti-price gouging law, you may not increase your hotel rates more than 10% above the rates you were charging before the emergency occurred. The counties presently covered are Caddo, Cleveland, Comanche, Creek, Garfield, Grant, Greer, Kiowa, Lincoln, Logan, McClain, Okfuskee, Oklahoma, Pawnee, Payne and Pottawatomie. Please note that Oklahoma’s Attorney General is expected to be particularly concerned with the hotel industry violating this law, so we urge you to take this seriously
