Great message from our friends Georgetown Basketball!

June 19, 1865, was an important date in our country's history and today we celebrate the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. We encourage all members of the Georgetown community to educate themselves on the significance and meaning of this day. Over the past few weeks, we have had many conversations with our Black student-athletes regarding their concerns of racial issues in our community. We look forward to creating an environment that will allow our Black student-athletes to achieve academic and athletic success, free from the harm of racial prejudice.
