Labor Day...and the gang's all here! We're welcoming new guests from Florida, Nevada, and Colorado along with our friends from Canada who have stayed with us 8 years and Chicago friends who have been with us every Labor Day since we opened.
Let the celebration begin :-)

August 29…a day filled with remembering. Ten years ago today, we welcomed our first guests at the Inn. What a wonderful, God-lead journey brought us here and what a grand time we’ve had as Innkeepers. We remember feeling called to open an Inn, the joy of finding the property, moving…trusting God through it all.
We think of the hundreds who have quickly passed through on their journeys; we hope they were refreshed by their stay. We fondly think of the dozens who return and have become friends. Thanks to all of you who have given us such wonderful memories!

WoooHooo!!!!!! We found out today that the Maple Leaf Inn was voted the Best Bed and Breakfast in the Fortwayne.com Best of the Best contest. A BIG thanks to all of you who made that possible...we have the very best guests :-)

I'm loving the giggles tthat come only from an Inn full of happy scrappers! Our first retreat of the fall season and the girls are busy scrappin, stampin, visiting , and giggling...what fun :-)

July 26...we moved into this house 10 years ago today. What a flood of memories...the many friends who helped. the hopes for the Inn. We could never have imagined all the great things God had in store for us here :-)

Please go to www.fortwayne.com and look for the 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards voting box…it’s red and in the center of the page. When you click on it, there will be a list of categories. Go to the last one “Show Places to go/things to do” and click on the + for a drop-down menu. Click on “Select” beside Bed and Breakfast then click on select on the right of the page to see the list of nominees. There are quite a few…will be interesting to see how it turns out. You can vote only once for one B&B…voting ends Sunday, July 29.

We're loving this summer weather!!! The daffodils are blooming, tulips are leaping out of the ground and the magnolia tree (my personal favorite) should be in full bloom today. I forgot to announce the grand total of pages scrapped/cards made at the Inn in 2011. Drumroll, please..............3628 :-) Great work, ladies!!! How many will you complete in 2012???

It was great having the Scrappin' Sisters here for thier 11th retreat! I think they hold the record for most times at the Inn. See you in October :-)

After 5 weekends of scrappin' retreats, this weekend and next we have traveling guests. While we'll miss the giggling and fun of the scrappers, we look forward to providing a place of peace and rest for the weary traveler. One of the greatest things about innkeeping is the opportunity we have to serve the different needs of our guests :-)

hmmmm...2" of snow on the ground with freezing drizzle predicted for this afternoon. This "ignore winter so it will go away" thing doesn't seem to be working :-(

Pack and store all snowmen and winter decorations...check. Get out spring decorations and flowers...check. Change profile picture to spring tulips...check. Ignore winter so it will go away...yep!!!
