Launch for $10. Grab your bait, tackle, and fishing license before you head out. Leave your rig overnight with private gate access and cameras on the property 24/7. Need to stay? We have the best motel rooms in the area and RV sites right onsite.

And that new cooler you see going in? Almost finished. More drinks, more variety, alcoholic and non-alcoholic because the last thing you want to do before hitting Lake Ontario is make run into town.

Quick heads up for the weekend 🎣 We're giving our staff the afternoon off Sunday for Employee Appreciation Day, so we'll be open 7am to noon 8/23!

The LOC Fall Derby kicked off today and runs through September 7th, so if you're heading out swing by today, all day Saturday or Sunday morning and we'll get you set!!

We have Familiar Bite brined bait, Rigged cut bait, night crawlers, minnows, and crayfish.

Shirts and sweatshirts just came back in and every size is stocked. Try one on while you're here!!

Captain's Cove is an official LOC weigh in station. Bait, tackle, fishing licenses, cold drinks, ATM.

On Friday 8/14 we recovered a lost E bike that fell off of a camper on the bridge next to our business on Route 18 in Waterport. We have been trying to locate the owner. We believe they may have been headed to Lakeside State Park. If you can describe the make, model and color of the E bike we would be happy to get it back to its rightful owner. Please share. Thank you!

Oak Orchard River & Lake Ontario Weekend Preview: One Week to the Fall Derby, August 14th, 2026

Blue sky, flat water, boats in the slips. This is Oak Orchard River this morning!!

The river is running right around 370 cubic feet per second... dead on average for mid August. Water temp is 74. A little color left from last week's rain and clearing daily.

Weather holds through Saturday. Today it is near 76. Saturday near 74 with a chance of a shower. Sunday is the one to watch, rain likely later on. Fish today and tomorrow.

Out on Lake Ontario the kings are on. Boats are finding them in 90 to 110 feet of water early... then pushing out to 200 to 240 by mid morning with some working past 500. Nice steelhead mixed in.

Mag spoons and fresh bait are here. Come get set up before you launch.

The LOC Fall Derby opens one week from today August 21st and runs through September 7th. Captain's Cove is an official weigh in station.
