Oak Orchard River & Lake Ontario Weekend Preview: Tournament Weekend — June 11th, 2026
Friday is the first leg of the King of the Oak tournament launching out of Point Breeze. Saturday and Sunday is the Orleans County Pro/Am. If you've been thinking about getting out on the Lake this weekend, you're going to be fishing alongside some of the best salmon anglers on Lake Ontario. That's not a bad problem to have.
Weather looks good for most of it. Friday sunny near 78°F. Saturday is the pick...sunny and pushing 81°F. Sunday pulls back to 73°F with rain moving in by afternoon. Come out Friday and Saturday!
The creek is running at 816 CFS right now with water temps at 78°F. She's high but the turbine channel below the dam is doing what it always does. Smallmouth are active in the warmer water. Stay off the dam at these flows... fish the bank.
Out on the Lake it's been a real strong bite. Local charters confirmed salmon and trout holding between 50 and 90 feet of water on a good spoon and meat rig bite... The tournament teams that dominated the Pro-Am last week were running 100 to 225 feet of water, targeting fish 50 to 75 feet down on a full meat program. Kings, cohos, steelhead and lakers all in the mix right here off Orleans County.
