If you come across a fawn lying still in the woods or high grass or even your lawn, you are watching a masterclass in deception. Stillness, quiet, low scent and spots throw off predators and keep fawns hidden while mom looks for food.

Before you intervene, ask yourself:
- Is this fawn lying quiet and still?
- Is this fawn in a safe location (not along a roadway)?
- Is this fawn visibly healthy (no signs of injury or illness)?

If you answered yes to these questions, congratulations! The fawn is doing fine and does not need help.

If the fawn is in an unsafe spot, it’s okay to move it several yards away to a safer location. Be sure to wear gloves and a facemask to protect the health of the fawn, and be sure to consider your own safety when walking near a road.

If the fawn is visibly injured, call the DNR or a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for further guidance.

Hello from Wind Drift Resort ! Well after 21 years we are going to retire! It's been a great run and we are so thankful and grateful for all the wonderful people we have met and continue to remain friends with. It has been an honor! I'm sad and excited for this new chapter in our lives. We are moving by our kids and grandkids and will be able to enjoy are golden years close by. We pray for health and happiness for all of you.

Well oficially NO access from Wind Drift Resort to ice fish. Open water out front. We think this will be an early ice out. Come on spring. Our pair of swans have been hete the last few weeks. They are beautiful.
