Hoot Owl Resort Rustic resort started in the 1950’s situated between two separate lakes in Northwest Minnesota (NW of Park Rapids 45 mins in White Earth).

We offer 6 rustic cabins, and 6 newer lake-house style “housekeeping” cabins. Off-season Lodge Hours - Mon-Sat 9am-8pm, Closed Sunday. Restaurant is open during snowmobile season Thurs-Sat 11a-8pm, Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends Fri-Sat 3-8pm

If you caught our little hint last week and checked the website, you already got the inside scoop. 😉 For everyone else, here's the official announcement!

🔥 Fresh Smoky Sliced Brisket 🔥

Christian will be firing up the oven and serving up freshly cooked sliced brisket, paired with creamy mashed potatoes and loose corn. Simple, hearty comfort food done right.

🍺 Don't forget, we're still offering $1 OFF all beers as we work through our end-of-season inventory.

As many of you know, this will be our final weekend of restaurant service for the season. With Friday Night Lights, school activities, practices, and all the busy schedules that come with fall, it's time for us to shift our focus to family and community commitments.

We want to thank everyone who stopped in, shared a meal, attended an event, or supported us throughout the summer. Your support means more than you know. ❤️

While the restaurant is closing for the season, this isn't goodbye. We plan to reopen after the first of the year once the snowmobile trails are set up and winter traffic begins rolling through the area. Keep an eye on our page this winter as we'll share updates once trail conditions and the season start taking shape.

Come help us wrap up another great summer with one last weekend of good food, cold drinks, and great company.

We're bringing a little Louisiana comfort to the lake this weekend with our homemade Shrimp Étouffée served over rice. Rich, savory, and loaded with tender shrimp, it's the perfect way to kick back and enjoy one of the final weekends of summer.

As much as we love feeding everyone all summer long, football season has arrived! With three boys on the field and Christian helping coach, our restaurant schedule starts competing with Friday night lights and practices. 🏈

That means we're down to just TWO weekends of summer food service remaining, with our last summer service day being Saturday, August 29th. If you've been meaning to stop in for dinner, now's the time!

👀 And for those who like to plan ahead... next weekend's special (August 28 & 29) has already been quietly posted on our website. We won't officially announce it on Facebook until next week, but there's nothing stopping curious people from taking a peek. 😉

We are feeling so blessed by the amazing people who come through our doors. Today we were gifted this incredible handmade owl quilt from one of our orchestra guests — the colors, the detail, the craftsmanship… just wow.

And while celebrating this beauty, I want to finally give a big shout‑out to another guest who made us a handmade lap blanket earlier last year. It’s been keeping us warm through football season and deserves its moment in the spotlight too.

Huge gratitude to both of these talented ladies. Quilting is no small task — it’s hours of dedication, creativity, and care — and we’re honored to be on the receiving end of such meaningful gifts.
