🥾 Lace up and join us for Hiking Club! 🌿
Looking for a reason to get outside, explore the trails, and meet some fellow hikers? Join us every Wednesday for our Hiking Club!

Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just looking to get moving and enjoy the outdoors, all experience levels are welcome. Each week, we'll hit the trails together, enjoy the scenery, and get a little fresh air along the way. The hikes will be fairly easy, and roughly 1.5-3 miles total.

👟 Hiking Club: Every Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. (with the exception of a few) 9/9, 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 11/4, 11/18, 12/2, 12/9

🌿 Senior Hiking Club: Every 4th Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.
9/23, 10/28, 11/25

Our Senior Hiking Club hikes are designed with our older adults in mind, offering a comfortable pace and a great opportunity to get outside, socialize, and enjoy the parks. Senior hiking club hikes will be no longer than 1.5 miles.

Grab your walking shoes, bring a friend, and come hike with us! We can't wait to see you on the trails. 🥾🌳

Two New Ways to Explore Cane Creek and Jesse Helms Park!

Park Explorer Guide: This is a fun, self-guided adventure for our youngest visitors. Complete activities in your explorer booklet, discover more about the park, and earn a small prize when you finish! This activity booklet can be completed in 1-2 days at the park. No registration is required to participate. Park Explorer booklets can be picked up in Cane Creek Park's front office, or the new Camp Store in the family camping area.

Junior Ranger Program:
Ready for a challenge? Complete activity pages throughout Cane Creek and Jesse Helms Park, learn about nature, and take on new adventures throughout the year! Once you complete the program, you’ll earn a spot on our Junior Ranger Wall with your photo and receive a Junior Ranger T-shirt!
This is a longer, more involved activity book designed to be completed over the course of an entire year. The program is free, but spots are limited! To register, visit the front office and mention the Junior Ranger Program.

Sunset Kayak at Cane Creek Reservoir

Join Union County Wildlife Chapter leaders and Cane Creek Park staff for an evening kayak tour around Cane Creek Reservoir!

Cane Creek Reservoir | Waxhaw, NC
FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Staff will demonstrate how to use the kayaks and equipment before guiding the group around the reservoir. As we paddle, we’ll look for birds, mammals, fish, and other wildlife while enjoying the beauty of the outdoors as the sun sets.

Important Registration Information:
• Children ages 8 and up are welcome but must ride in a tandem kayak with a parent.
• Participants must be 18 or older to use a single kayak.
• Kayaks are limited, so everyone in your group must register to secure a spot.
• Adults are welcome to bring their own kayaks. Please indicate this during registration.

Registration is required even though this event is free.
