RD & Lucille Morris, founders, believed the ultimate mission for any campground was to be a genuine, hospitable locale for folks to enjoy the simplicity of spending time with one another. This mission has continued as their heirs continue to provide families from near and far an unforgettable experience. Convenient, centrally located, many amenities, and events year round – all in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Does it finally feel like fall? The trees agree that it does. With temperatures dropping, you’ll see reds, yellows, oranges, and pinks all around the state, particularly in the western and central parts of Virginia. Look for black locust, walnut, sweet birch, and even some hickories turning yellow, amber hues on sycamore and yellow-poplars, and reds on sumac, maple, blackgum, and dogwood. The leaves are still mostly green to the east, but you could spot a red maple or yellow sweetgum branch, in addition to the white and yellow wildflowers that color the ground. Even out west, we haven’t really reached 50% color change — so there’s plenty of autumn left to enjoy.
