*Lake update*

We are still about 3 feet above summer pool.

There is a small strip of beach sand to enjoy this weekend.

North Pool Ramp is open, Wellman Ramp still has a little water before the docks but is close to having dry access (see photos). Furnas Shores and Campground Docks are still closed.

Please use caution around flooded areas and be mindful of debris in the lake.

Lake should be back to summer pool in a few more days!

We actually recommend that you DO chase waterfalls 🌊

It's been raining a lot lately, which means it's the PERFECT time to go visit your local waterfalls. Higher water levels can make falls even more impressive this time of year, and some spots that are usually just a trickle are now putting on a show! Just be prepared for muddy trails and slippery rocks.

Remember, to safely chase waterfalls, please stay on the designated trails, wear proper shoes, follow directional signs, and listen to the staff at whatever location you choose!

Fun fact Friday!

The Spiny Softshell turtle has a snorkel-like nose that allows it to extract oxygen from the water while it’s submerged in the mud or sand.

Come play I Spy at the Nature Center this weekend and try to find Miss Shell hiding in her tank!

The Nature Center is open Saturday 10 am - 6 pm and Sunday 12 pm - 6 pm

Lake Update

The lake has currently leveled out for the time being. North Pool boat ramp remains open. If we get more rain and levels rise you can see it will be above the concrete soon. The docks at all the other ramps are currently inaccessible.

The Beach is also underwater at this time

This Memorial Day, we're taking time to honor and remember the brave people who gave their lives in service to our country. As we spend time outdoors with family and friends this weekend, we remember those who have made these freedoms possible.

Have a safe Memorial Day weekend!

⚠️ Ramp Closure Notice ⚠️

Due to current flooding conditions, the Furnas Shores Ramp and Campground Boat Ramp are CLOSED. Water levels have risen past the Wellman courtesy docks as well.

At this time, the North Pool Ramp remains open and available, and we recommend boaters use that location for now.

As water levels continue to rise, we will keep monitoring ramp conditions and provide updates as needed. Please use caution around all flooded areas.

Fun fact Friday!

Did you know that box turtles can live to be 100 years old?!

Although named Grandpa, our resident male Eastern box turtle at the Caesar Creek Nature Center isn’t quite that old.

Come say hi to Grandpa this weekend! The Nature Center is open Saturday 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday 12 pm to 6 pm.
