Less than 5 miles north on Route 1 is Kennebunk. The Dam on the Mousam River is literally attached to the Lafayette Building. Located on the 1st floor, Duffy's Tavern & Grill is a great place to eat and catch a view of the river. Thankfully they are open year round so the team here at the Carriage House can have some eating options in the winter.

FIRST FROST and LAST WEEK of the season. We made it 26 days into the autumnal equinox before our first frost this year. Our beautiful Maple Tree is over half naked getting ready for it's long winter nap and the Dahlia tubers will need to be put to bed inside soon. Grateful to have some friendly bike riders make us their annual stay for their leaf peeping trip. It has been a full house this weekend!
