Our lifeguards are now off duty for the day, but the beach remains posted with DOUBLE RED FLAGS. The water is CLOSED to swimming. Conditions are extremely dangerous. Entering the water could result in serious injury or death. The surf is continuing to build and is expected to peak overnight. Tomorrow’s conditions are forecast to be even worse. A No Water Entry rule will be strictly enforced until conditions improve.

You hear us talk about them all the time and now you can take a tour for yourself. NOAA's Hurricane Hunter aircraft will be visiting Portland on Monday, May 6th. These specially equipped planes are designed to fly into nature's most powerful storms gathering information that is critical to forecasting the storms movement. Come check it out!

The Wells Beach Cleanup happens tomorrow, Saturday April 27th. It’s going to be a gorgeous day. Poland Spring Natural Spring Water has graciously donated bottled waters to our event along with Congdon's Doughnuts and Hannaford Supermarkets who are donating delicious donuts and treats. LitterPic Inc. is donating 100 free safety vests to first come, first serve.

We have a large number of people who have registered for this event. Please plan on arriving 15-20 mins early for parking, gathering of supplies, and treat tasting before the meeting at 113 Sanford Rd begins at 10am. We strongly encourage everyone to carpool if you are coming with a group of people.
