WHAT: An annular solar eclipse will be passing over the United States! This is an event where the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, but it does so when it is at or near its farthest point from the Earth. This means the Moon will appear as a dark disk on top of a larger, bright disk, creating what looks like a ring around the Moon.

WHEN: The eclipse is going to happen on October 14, 2023!

SAFETY: Even though this is an eclipse, the Sun will not be completely blocked by the Moon. Viewing any part of the Sun through a camera lens, binoculars, or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filter secured over the front of the optics will instantly cause severe eye injury!
