Cottage In The Lane Cottage in the Lane offers Maine vacation cottages on the access road to Drakes Island Beach.

Our facility features ten cottages along a tree-lined lane on six scenic acres bordering the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge and Wells Reserve at Laudholm.

We are looking for hard-working, detail-oriented housekeepers to work Saturdays from mid-June until mid-September at our family-owned complex of 10 cottages on Drakes Island Road in Wells.

Compensation is $20/hour with the possibility of higher rates for excellent performance.

Candidates should have very high standards of cleanliness and be able to work quickly throughout a physically demanding day, typically from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Looking for a part-time lawn care and maintenance person for our seasonal cottages in Wells. Primary responsibilities include mowing/weeding weekly on Saturdays during the summer. While we can't predict when current travel restrictions will end, we are relaxing our cancellation policy for June, July, and August. You can now cancel up to three days before your arrival date and we'll refund your deposit, minus a $25 service charge.

We're also adopting enhanced cleaning and disinfection practices in line with state and federal standards. We'll be reaching out to guests with instructions on how to pay your balance and check-in prior to arrival so we can limit in-person contact and keep everyone safe.

Our property is a beautiful, spacious retreat, close to nature trails and the beach. It's the perfect place to be together apart. We hope all of you are staying healthy and safe.
