🐾 Labor Day Weekend at Heart of the Forest — Day Two! 🐾

We're keeping the fun going today! Swing by and say hi to Forest & Fur , here from 10 AM – 2 PM with a drop-in grooming station for your furry campers. No appointment needed — just bring your pup by!

Whether you're camping with us this weekend or just stopping in for the day, come enjoy the sunshine, meet some new friends (two- and four-legged), and treat your pet to a little pampering. 🐶✂️

We are teaming up with Shandy's to host a community garage sale. If you are interested in being a seller at this event, there is no charge. We just ask that you either call or text the campground at 231-299-7601 or sign up at the link in the first comment.

Oooh, orange cats have so much personality! This guy is in need of somebody to let him express that personality in his forever home.

Benzie is our Pet of the week! He is a low-key 8 year old shorthair orange tabby. He's going to make an affectionate companion in his new home, happy to hang on the couch and chill with you. He's good with other cats, but would prefer a home without dogs. This awesome boy is so deserving of a loving home - and we have lots of other senior cats waiting for the same! They are part of our senior to senior program - cats over 6 yrs old adopted by someone over 60 have waived adoption fees.

Homeward Bound is also offering Adopt One, Get One 1/2 OFF for pairs of cats adopted in August! Also, join us for our Clear the Shelters event to meet some of our adoptable dogs at Wyatt Chevy in Manistee on Saturday August 29th from 11-1.

Labor Day Weekend at Heart of the Forest! 🎉
We’re celebrating Labor Day weekend + our second anniversary owning this beautiful place, and we’d love for you to come celebrate with us! 🥳🌲

We have a fun weekend planned with a little something for everyone, whether you’re camping with us for the weekend or just stopping by to join in on the festivities.

🍦 Ice Cream Social — because what’s a celebration without ice cream?
🐟 Salmon Brunch & Potluck — come hungry and bring a dish to share! We’ll be enjoying a salmon brunch together and turning it into a good old-fashioned potluck.
🌈 Tie Dye — $5 per person. We’ll have both plain, and Heart of the Forest shirts to tie-dye!
🎨 Reusable Tote Painting — $5 per person. Paint your own reusable tote and take home something you made yourself.
Most importantly, we’re looking forward to celebrating another year with the people who make this place so special. ❤️
So grab your family, friends, camper, or just yourself and come spend Labor Day weekend with us! We’ll have good food, fun activities, and plenty of time to relax and enjoy the holiday.
