I spy...a wild cranberry!

Did you know this quintessential Thanksgiving fruit grows in the North Truro and Provincetown dunes? Bogs are typically nestled in low spots close to the water table.

The First People, the Wampanoag, have known the value of this native berry for thousands of years. Known as Sasumaneash, the berries are easily stored, providing a healthful food source through the winter.

Within the national seashore, berries may be collected for personal use and consumption, limited to one gallon, per person, per day.

Anyone have a cranberry recipe to share?
