No too far from where the iconic Luis I Bridge stands in Porto one of the worst bridge disasters in history happened in 1809. Today there's a plaque commemorating that disaster and it mourns the approximate 4,000 lives lost that cold March day.

Did you know that there are catacombs beneath the city of Porto, Portugal. The country’s biggest city in the north is home to the Igreja de São Francisco, which dates back centuries and has literal human bones stacked beneath it. Of course this was something we wanted to see for ourselves.

When a 1730s farmer had a vision of a holy relic, he not only sought it out, but he found it. Ever since, this Sanctuary in a rural area of Portugal has displayed it and many still believe it has supernatural powers. (The relic itself appears in the video).
