ELECTION DAY IS FAST APPROACHING β€” KNOW THE ANNEXATION FACTS

Election Day is November 3, and as the election approaches, we want to remind residents of some of the key facts that have been shared about the proposed West Fork annexation.

The Proposed Area
The annexation would expand West Fork's boundaries north of the existing city limits and includes approximately 2.5 miles of I-49 and two existing interstate overpasses.

Who Gets to Vote?
Qualified voters within the current City of West Fork and within the proposed annexation area will have the opportunity to vote on the proposal.

Planning for the I-49 Corridor
If approved, the City would have a role in planning for future land use, development, infrastructure, access and services within the annexed area. Annexation itself does not determine what specific development will occur.

Representation
If the annexation is approved, residents within the proposed area would become West Fork residents and gain representation in West Fork city government while continuing to have county representation.

Rural-Life Concerns
The City Council has heard concerns about how annexation could affect rural properties. On September 8, the Council passed Resolution 2026-07, stating its intent to consider several issues within 90 days following the election if annexation is approved.

There is more information available.
Visit westforkar.gov and select β€œAnnexation Information.”

Review the information. Ask questions. Know the facts before you vote on November 3.

HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION?

As we get closer to the November 3 election, we know residents may still have questions about the proposed West Fork annexation.

Whether you currently live inside West Fork or within the proposed annexation area, we encourage you to take some time to review the information available before Election Day.

The City's Annexation Information page includes information about:
Proposed boundaries and maps
The I-49 corridor included in the proposal
Planning and development considerations
Representation for residents in the proposed area
Rural-living concerns and Resolution 2026-07
Additional documents and annexation information

Annexation involves many different issues, and we want residents to have access to information so they can understand what is being proposed and what it could mean for the community.

Visit westforkar.gov and select "Annexation Information."

Take a few minutes to review the information, look at the maps, and learn more about the proposal before casting your vote.
