Campus is coming back to life, suitcases are unpacked, new friendships are beginning, and another exciting school year is underway.

To the students starting a new chapter, the returning Boilermakers finding familiar routines, and the parents helping with last minute emergencies —we're wishing you all a wonderful start to the semester.

To our Purdue families, thank you for allowing The Whittaker Inn to be part of so many visits, celebrations, and milestone moments over the years. We look forward to welcoming many of you back throughout the school year.

A special shout out to our Whittaker team members who are also part of the Boilermaker family. Fatima & Uriah, we hope you enjoy your first year at Purdue! Ryan, Charlotte, and Gracie we hope you have a great return to campus!

It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks here at the Inn but this afternoon after our afternoon tea party we took a little while to celebrate our sweet Chip’s 3rd birthday!🎂 He of course enjoyed some baked goods from our favorite baker (his Grammie) as you can see from this picture. He then enjoyed a car ride, a favorite pastime, some backyard time barking at rabbits and birds, a couple walks around the grounds, and a few more treats than usual 😋. It’s crazy to think it has been three years since he came into our lives. There are never enough hours in the day to spend with him (as he makes us well aware), but he has brought our family and many of our guests great joy and we look forward to many more years of fun! Happy birthday Chiperooni (as we affectionately call him)!

The weekends always seem to fill themselves quickly with plans.

But there's something special about pressing pause in the middle of the week—sharing a thoughtfully prepared meal, enjoying perfectly paired wines, and leaving the dishes for someone else. That's what W**e Down Wednesdays are all about.

Behind every stay, every event, every gathering, and so many of the little details that make The Whittaker feel like home is Elizabeth Whittaker. She pours so much of herself into this place, and we're incredibly grateful for the heart, hospitality, and care she brings to The Whittaker every day.

The dinner table has always been a place where stories are shared. On August 18th, The Whittaker Inn and Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette are partnering together to offer a unique Arts experience.

Join us for "Beyond the Theater", where guests will enjoy a behind-the-scenes talk from John D. Collier exploring the process of bringing the Civic Theatre production of "The Mousetrap" to life through community efforts. After the talk, you will be served a family style 3 course English countryside inspired meal curated by Chef Andrew and his culinary team, while chatting with your fellow dinner guests about what you learned.
