Water Advisory Update from West Memphis Utilities

West Memphis Utilities continues to ask all residents to limit water usage to essential needs only. The boil water advisory remains in effect until further notice. For your safety, please continue to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and hygiene.

We will provide an update as soon as the State of Arkansas approves our water quality test results and the advisory can be officially lifted.

The boil water advisory remains in effect today for the safety of all residents.

Our crews are working around the clock to restore safe and reliable water service across the city. First test samples have been sent to the ADH lab in Little Rock this afternoon. The lab will run tests on Monday, and results are expected late Monday afternoon to determine if the boil order can be lifted.

Water System Update – Continued Restrictions in Effect

While some customers may notice improved water pressure this morning, West Memphis Utilities is asking all residents to continue limiting water usage to absolutely essential needs only.

Water System Emergency – Urgent Notice to West Memphis Customers

Overnight, West Memphis Utilities experienced a failure of two critical transfer pumps in our water system. Crews are working diligently to restore service, but until repairs are complete, we are unable to move enough water to rebuild pressure in the system when water is being used.

We are urgently asking all customers to stop using water unless it is absolutely essential.
Please do not use any water unless it is imperative for health or safety.

If you must use water, boil it before drinking, cooking, or any consumption to protect your health and your family’s safety.

Thank you for your cooperation. We will continue to provide updates as the situation develops.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will be closing the I-55 Mississippi River Bridge for two weeks to continue construction activities on the I-55 and Crump interchange. During the two-week closure, crews will hydro-demolition the bridge deck and provide a new polymer concrete overlay. The polymer-modified concrete has strict temperature restrictions. All work is weather-dependent. The upcoming closure is the first of two allowed in the contract.

Sunday, June 9, 8:00 pm through Sunday, June 23, 8:00 pm
- I-55 SB will be closed at Bridgeport Road in Arkansas
- I-55 NB will be closed at South Parkway* in Tennessee
*Local traffic will be allowed to continue to the McLemore exit
- I-55 SB ramp will be closed
- Crump Boulevard WB will be closed
