At YWCA Westfield, we believe that creating a stronger community means making sure people know they don't have to face difficult moments alone.

Su***de Prevention Month is an opportunity to raise awareness, reduce stigma, check in on the people we care about, and remind one another that support is available.

Sometimes reaching out can feel difficult. A simple “How are you really doing?” can open the door to an important conversation. Listen without judgment. Be present. Let someone know they matter.

Women—particularly young women of color—are critical to driving social and policy change. Our voices have the power to shape the issues that matter most to our lives, our families, and our communities.

From quality, affordable child care and paid family and medical leave to access to reproductive health care and safety from gender-based violence, the policies we care about have a direct impact on our everyday lives.

That’s why YWCA USA conducts the YWomenVote survey during federal election years—to better understand what women are most concerned about and what policies we hope to see elected leaders prioritize.

At YWCA Westfield, we believe in robust, nonpartisan civic engagement. That means encouraging voter registration, helping people become informed about the issues at stake, and encouraging eligible voters to participate in our democracy.

We do not endorse or oppose candidates or engage in partisan politics.
