It is a place started by my grandparents, Ed and Kay Purdy, back in the mid-60's as a place of life, love and Christian fellowship. And they created a little slice of Heaven in the South Carolina foothills. I was a small boy at the time. But I remember days of camping in tents, pick-ups and pop-up campers. Then as things progressed there was a boat ramp, three boat docks, a picnic shed and a campg
round for friends across the street from the "ball field" where many a church softball game was played and thousands of lightnin' bugs were captured over the years. Almost every small child and teenager in Oconee County, at the time, learned to ski and tube and sled behind "Mr. Ed's" boat. Some of those teens even got married here when they had grown. It's always been a place of the "best summer of my life". And I'm still having them every year I'm here. It's now my dream to keep this just the way my grandparents intended it to be. And to pass this down to my children so that they too can enjoy the happiness that it has always brought me. Please feel free to post any pictures and/or stories of your "best times".
