Camp Pineshore is excited to announce that Pastor Rob Morris of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Newtown, CT will be our Camp Chief (Pastor of the Week) for the Junior High Overnight Week of Camp for Grades 7-9.

Pastor Morris has been serving Camp Pineshore since 2015 and is tremendously gifted pastor. We're so blessed to have him and his family back at camp!

Easter Sunday is Tomorrow!
Sunrise service at Camp Pineshore at 7AM!
Easter Big Service at 10AM back at Church!

It’s the big one! Easter Sunday is tomorrow! Alleluia! Christ is risen. He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

It all starts at Camp Pineshore at 7AM. We’ll have the annual Sunrise service by the lake. This service will focus on Easter from the perspective of the Gospel of John with Jesus appearing to Mary Magdalene early by the tomb. A big focus of the sermon will be on the significance of it being the “First Day”. Communion will be served. It is forecasted to be 37 degrees that morning so bundle up as Big Camp, where we’ll be having the service, is unheated. Kathy will be leading the service musically on keyboard.

Then at 10AM, we have Easter Big Service back at the church. Kathy will be leading musically on organ, with accompaniment with Liz on Violin, Jim, Kathy’s husband, on trombone, and Gary on Trumpet. This service will focus on Easter from the perspective of the Gospel of Matthew which focuses on the angel sitting on the rock that sealed Jesus tomb and Jesus appearing to the women. The service will include a special Call To Service singing the ancient hymn 459 Christ is Arisen "Christ Is Arisen" Lutheran Service Book LSB #459 before turning on the lights, proclaiming Christ is Risen, and having a special cross processional as the church sing the all time Easter Classic, 457 Jesus Christ is Risen Today. Communion will be served and joy will be the theme as we celebrate Jesus’ ressruection! After the service the kids will be invited to a special egg hunt and we will have Easter Coffee and Treats down in the Fellowship Hall.

Holy Week 2026 Worship Services

6 PM Holy Thursday Worship: April 2
This service will begin with a special public confession rite with individual absolution up at the newly refinished communion rail. The service will focus on John 13, where Jesus washes the disciple’s feet. We’ll also have communion on the same night we celebrate Jesus instituting the supper. Finally, the service will end with stripping of the altar and leaving in silence as preparation for Good Friday.

6 PM Good Friday: April 3
This Service will follow Jesus’ passion from the perspective of the Gospel of John. It will include the lights slowly dimming as Jesus’ death and burial gets closer. The service will also include the strepitus when all the lights are dimmed. You’ll just have to come to learn (or better hear) what that is. Finally, we’re going to be having communion near the close of the service.

7 AM Easter Sunrise at Camp Pineshore: April 5
This service will tell the account of Easter from the Gospel of John including Mary Magdalene being the first to see the resurrected Christ, early in the morning. Join us at Big Camp at Camp Pineshore to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord.

10 AM Easter Worship at Messiah Lutheran Church: April 5
The Big One! Easter worship at Messiah Lutheran church will include special musical pieces including a trumpet accompaniment and will focus on the story of Easter from the Gospel of Matthew. Easter egg hunt will follow the service. Christ has risen. He has risen indeed!
