The creeks are running cold. The lupine is starting to bloom on the trails. There are goslings on the lower fields.

This is Montana's most alive and magical month, and it shows up for even the smallest friends first.

"I wonder what it would be like to live in a world where it was always June."
โ€” L.M. Montgomery

Some people catch a glimpse of that world here at Mountainside.

The long light. The dewy grass in the morning. Bread on the table before anyone else is awake.

It feels like hope.

It doesn't last forever. But it stays with you longer than you'd think.๐ŸŒฒ

There's something that happens when you take two people out of their routines and put them somewhere beautiful.

The conversation changes. The pace changes. You remember things about each other that got buried under the calendar and the to-do list.

That's what the Couples Retreat is designed for. Not fixing anything. Not working through anything. Just four days in Whitefish, Montana, with nothing competing for your attention.
Leisurely mornings. Guided time in the forest. Optional yoga and sound healing. Long dinners. Open afternoons where you do exactly what you want, at whatever pace feels right. And if you want to add a couples massage, some of the most gifted bodyworkers I've found anywhere are here to offer that.

Everything is taken care of. Transportation once you land. Meals prepared with care. Three private evening dining experiences.

You simply pack a bag and show up.

There's a moment on the first evening of every retreat when I look around and think: these people found their way here for a reason.

Last week, guests and practitioners arrived at Mountainside for our first Nervous System Reset Retreat, part of our new Mountainside Collective events, a series of curated signature experiences.

They came from different lives, different states, different levels of exhaustion. By the time we finished our dinner that first night, shoulders had dropped about two inches.

That's what this land does. You don't have to try. The creek does some of it. The quiet does the rest.

This group was something special. Grateful for every one of them.

We hope to welcome you sometime soon too. ๐ŸŒฒ

She needed open skies.

There is something about a Montana summer sky that is impossible to explain to someone who hasn't stood under one. The scale of it. The way the light moves. The storms that build on the horizon and the calm that follows.

You just have to see it.

Twelve slides worth of proof โ€” until you come visit us at Mountainside.๐ŸŒฒ

I learned these words years ago and never forgot them.

There's something about having a name for a feeling that makes it more real.

If you've ever felt genuinely at home in the trees, one of these is yours.

Which one?๐ŸŒฒ

Today gets filled up with family. And that's exactly as it should be.

If you're hosting, here's the dressing I reach for at almost every gathering.
It takes about 30 seconds and it goes with everything.

Everyday House Dressing
A Mountainside Staple--see recipe below

And while we're on the topic of gathering and talk around the table:

"Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." โ€” Robert Brault

That's what today is for.

From the table,
Lorraine

------------
Everyday House Dressing
Ingredients

1 cup olive oil
ยฝ cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon honey
Dash of pink Himalayan salt
Dash of freshly cracked black pepper
Method

Add all ingredients to a blender or jar.
Emulsify for about 10โ€“15 seconds, just until combined.
Be careful not to over-blend โ€” the dressing will naturally thicken as it sits.
Taste and adjust if needed.
Serve immediately or refrigerate.

This is the kind of recipe that becomes part of your rhythm โ€” simple, reliable, and always on the table.

Sunday at The Coop, and nobody told them to slow down.

The flock has things to do. Grass to investigate. Opinions to share. A whole world to assess from 12 inches off the ground.

We talk a lot about what nature does for us here on the property, the quiet, the trees, the mountain air. But honestly? Some days it's these characters who make us laugh the most and remind us what it feels like to be fully, unapologetically present.

They're not worried about Monday. They are completely, joyfully here.

Their message to you, and we are just passing it along:

Someday you're going to get an invitation to come to Montana. Please say yes. There is so much waiting for you here.

Adventure really does await.๐ŸŒฒ

I see it everywhere I travel.

Two people sitting together at dinner. Phones lit up between them. Physically present, somewhere else entirely.

I recognize it because Iโ€™ve lived it.

The Couples Retreat at Mountainside was built for the couples who are ready to put the phones down and actually find each other again. Not a workshop. Not therapy homework.

Just unhurried days together in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Guided forest walks, long dinners, open mornings, and the particular stillness that Montana does better than anywhere.

No agenda for your relationship. No pressure to process or perform. Just time.๐ŸŒฒ

Not what you were thinking about on a holiday weekend Friday, but maybe you should be.

Most people try to live longer by adding things.

But longevity science keeps pointing to what you return to.

Researchers studying the world's longest-lived communities found four factors that show up everywhere. Interestingly, not one comes in a bottle.

Time in nature:
Cortisol drops measurably after just 20 minutes outside. Chronic stress is one of the most reliable predictors of accelerated aging.

Real community:
Strong social connection is associated with a 50% greater likelihood of survival. Loneliness carries the same mortality risk as smoking 15 ci******es a day.

Food that comes from somewhere:
Every long-lived population on earth eats mostly whole, seasonal, real food. Prepared simply. Eaten together.

A regulated nervous system:
Up to 80% of how long we live is shaped by lifestyle and environment. Chronic dysregulation affects sleep, immunity, inflammation, and cellular repair simultaneously.

These aren't add-ons to your routine. Ideally, they are your foundation.

You have three days this weekend. Take the opportunity to include all four.
Get outside. Gather around a table with people you love. Eat something real. And let yourself actually rest!

At Mountainside, we will be enjoying all of them.

Join us sometime soon!๐ŸŒฒ
