Black Diamond Harley-Davidson and Thrillville are preparing for a full day of entertainment, motorsports, family activities, and live music during Full Throttle Saturday on June 20 at The Oasis in Marion.

The event will feature a free Saturday night concert by Southern rock band Jackyl, known for hits including “The Lumberjack” and “Down on Me.” Earlier in the day, the Busted Knuckles Motorcycle Stunt Show will perform throughout the afternoon with motorcycle tricks and riding demonstrations.

Organizers say the event will include attractions for all ages, including the Oasis Outlaw Shootout RC Car Drag Racing Regional, food trucks, family activities, inflatables, face painting, balloon artists, and other entertainment across the Thrillville campus. Visitors can also explore ThrillHouse Family Entertainment Center, Oasis Powersports, shopping, dining, and other attractions located throughout the complex.

The celebration also marks Black Diamond Harley-Davidson’s move into its new location inside The Oasis after 17 years at its previous Marion location. Company officials say the new dealership is part of a larger entertainment destination designed to bring together retail, recreation, and live events.

Admission to Full Throttle Saturday is free, including the Jackyl concert. Activities will take place throughout the day, with organizers encouraging visitors to arrive early to take advantage of the various attractions and entertainment offerings.

Additional event information and schedules are available through Black Diamond Harley-Davidson and The Oasis.

Illinois residents and visitors will be able to fish without a license during the state’s annual Free Fishing Days, scheduled for June 19-22, according to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

During the four-day event, anglers can fish in Illinois waters without purchasing a fishing license, salmon stamp or inland trout stamp. State officials say the program is designed to encourage more people to try fishing, reconnect with the outdoors and introduce children to the sport.

Outside of Free Fishing Days, Illinois residents age 16 and older are generally required to have a fishing license. The IDNR said the annual resident fishing license remains one of the most affordable in the Midwest at $15.

The department encourages families to take advantage of the opportunity by visiting local lakes, ponds, rivers and other public fishing locations throughout Illinois. The event is held each year as part of an effort to promote outdoor recreation and increase participation in fishing across the state.

The start of beach season at Rend Lake is just around the corner, with two popular swimming areas set to reopen later this month.

According to the Rend Lake Project Office/Visitor Center, South Sandusky Beach and North Marcum Beach are scheduled to open for the season on Friday, May 15.

Visitors will pay $5 per vehicle to access the beaches. Officials say automated fee machines are available on site, with payments accepted by credit or debit card only.

As the season begins, safety reminders are also being emphasized. Life jackets are strongly encouraged for children, and free life jackets are available to borrow at both beaches and the Rend Lake Visitor Center.

Several rules will also be in place. Alcohol and glass containers are not permitted at either beach. Dogs are allowed at North Marcum Beach but must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet.

Facilities including showers and restrooms will be open, and visitors are asked to help keep the areas clean by properly disposing of trash.
