The Harrison House is ready for Christmas. 🙂

10/31/2022

It is Christmas tree time at the Harrison House Bed & Breakfast! The trees are all coming out, and as usual, we are having to repair lights on them.

I wanted to demonstrate my little Christmas light repair tool again! This tool is for repairing traditional incandescent mini Christmas lights.

It seems like last year they only had the “tester” tools- so go ahead and just order one from Amazon now, so it is here in time for Christmas.

When a strand doesn’t work, it usually means there are several burned out bulb- so be prepared to replace them. The more burned out bulbs you allow to remain, the faster the others on the strand will burn out.

Please share! I would love for people to know there could be an easier solution than replacing the tree! in today’s world of pre-lit trees you have to options when the lights go out: replace the tree or go through the painstaking process of stripping the lights (it is a big job!) and putting new ones on.

I absolutely recommend buying an unlit tree and putting your own lights on. They will eventually need replacing, and it will be much, much easier with your own lights. In the meantime, this handy tool will greatly extend the life of your lights.
