We are currently looking for the right person or couple to take over the day-to-day functions of maintaining the RV Park. This permanent position typically only requires about 15-20 hours per week, during the summer months, to stay on top of everything. The winter months are much easier. This position WILL NOT include any monetary compensation. It will however include FREE rent and utilities. This position allows you to supplement your retirement (by not having to pay rent or utilities) and or a separate, part-time job. To qualify, you must also own your own RV. By taking on the role of being a Park Host, Your RV must also meet our minimum RV requirements as listed in our park rules. We will require a resume, references and a picture of your RV. We will also conduct a background check.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for day to day tasks of maintaining the RV Park. This position requires the ability to help customers when they have particular needs and to perform a variety of routine maintenance, custodial, and repair activities involving campground buildings and grounds. This position works a varied schedule, at your leisure, but may also include weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensuring that customer needs are met.
· Perform various landscaping duties including but not limited to mowing, pulling w**ds, watering grass, pruning, trimming grass, raking, dirt work, etc.
· Perform custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and stocking cabins, restrooms and shower facilities, cleaning fire rings and campsites, litter pick-up, and general upkeep of the campgrounds.
· Assist with simple plumbing repairs.
· Assist in maintaining equipment including but not limited to mowers, line trimmers, and chainsaws.
· Mix and spray or spread fertilizers and/or herbicides onto grass using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders and perform additional w**d management tasks as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Ability to be trained and use maintenance equipment and tools properly and safely.
· Must be able to interact with the public in a professional manner and have verbal and written communication skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience: No experience necessary. Looking for a willingness to follow directions and perform general landscaping, maintenance, and cleaning duties. At least 18 years of age.�
· Education: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Work in all kinds of weather conditions in mainly an outdoor environment, with exposure to weather, temperature extremes, and atmospheric conditions.
· Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and will be loud during certain assignments.
· Exposed to chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers.
· Frequently work near moving mechanical parts and/or heavy equipment.
· Use of campground maintenance equipment including tractors, mowers, chainsaws, w**d eaters, blowers, and various other related equipment.
· Exposed to dirt, dust, grease, loud noises, foul odors, vibration, fumes, heights.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Extensive physical activity required; regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or greater.
· Regularly required to use hands to grasp, handle, feel and operate objects, tools, equipment or controls, and required to lift and reach with hands and arms.
· Required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, reach, crouch, and climb; talk to or hear customers.
